The Josie Foundation was established in memory of Josephine Marie Herzon, who died in July 2005 at the age of 5-1/2 due to a rare form of childhood brain cancer. We are dedicated to finding a cure for the specific type of cancer that took Josie and to providing recreation, comfort, and emotional support to children facing life-threatening illnesses. We raise funds through community activities and distribute these funds to organizations that further our cause.
To date (December 2024), we have distributed $109,375 in research grants and more than 10,000 toys to local children's hospitals and hospice programs. We have also supported children's wish-granting organizations with toys, hand-made blankets, and more than $7,000 of grants. |
