Contact The Josie Foundation

The Josie Foundation was established in memory of Josephine Marie Herzon, who died in July 2005 at the age of 5-1/2 due to a rare form of childhood brain cancer. We are dedicated to finding a cure for the specific type of cancer that took Josie and to providing recreation, comfort, and emotional support to children facing life-threatening illnesses. We raise funds through community activities and distribute these funds to organizations that further our cause.

To date (January 2020), we have distributed $106,083 in research grants and more than 8,700 toys to local children's hospitals and hospice programs. We have also supported children's wish-granting organizations with toys, hand-made blankets, and more than $6,000 of grants.

Fourteenth Annual Toy Drive
The Toy Drive was an unbelievable success! We collected more than 300 toys and distributed them to Children's Hospital of St. Louis and Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center. Thank you for your support! You are helping to brighten the day of children who truly need this support.
